EventPrime Check-in (“the App”) is a mobile application developed by Metagauss for event organizers who use the EventPrime event management plugin on their WordPress websites. The App enables organizers and authorized staff to verify attendees, scan tickets, track check-ins, and access booking details in real time.

The App is designed to work together with EventPrime Events Tickets and EventPrime Event Attendee Check in extensions, which provide ticket generation, validation, and attendee check-in capabilities within the organizer’s EventPrime-powered site.

This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles data, what information is processed, and how attendee data from your own WordPress site is used and protected. By using the App, you agree to the terms described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Who We Are

Metagauss develops event management solutions for WordPress, including EventPrime. We do not collect, sell, or share attendee data for advertising or profiling purposes. All event data accessed by the App belongs to the event organizer.

3. Data We Access Through the App

EventPrime Check-in does not create its own database of user or attendee information. All data displayed inside the App is sourced directly from the organizer’s WordPress site, where the EventPrime plugin is installed.

The App may access the following types of data strictly for functional purposes:

3.1 Organizer Account Information

WordPress username or app password
Authentication tokens
Site URL

Purpose: To securely connect the App to your WordPress EventPrime installation.

3.2 Event & Booking Data

Retrieved from the organizer’s site:

Event lists
Attendee names
Booking details
Ticket/QR code identifiers
Check-in status
Attendee counts and statistics

This Event & Booking Data typically originates from EventPrime, EventPrime Events Tickets, and EventPrime Event Attendee Check in extensions configured on your Site.

Purpose: To enable scanning, validating, and updating check-in statuses.

3.3 Device Permissions

Camera: Used only to scan QR codes or barcodes for check-in.
Network access: To sync check-ins and retrieve event data from the organizer’s website.
Local storage: For offline check-in queuing until connectivity is restored.

The App does not access contacts, photos, location, microphone, or any unrelated device data.

4. How Your Data Is Processed

All event and attendee data remains under the control of the event organizer and is pulled directly from their own WordPress event database.

The App processes data in the following ways:

4.1 Displaying Event Data

Data is retrieved and displayed to authenticated staff for managing check-ins.

4.2 Updating Check-in Records

When check-ins occur, the App updates booking statuses directly on the organizer’s WordPress site. These updates operate on top of data provided through EventPrime and its EventPrime Events Tickets and EventPrime Event Attendee Check in extensions.

4.3 Offline Mode

If the device is offline:

Check-ins are temporarily stored on the device in encrypted storage.
They sync automatically once the connection is available.
Offline data is automatically cleared after successful sync.

Metagauss does not receive or store this data on external servers.

5. What Data Metagauss Does NOT Collect

Metagauss does not:

Store attendee data on Metagauss servers
Track personal activity within the App
Use analytics to collect personal identifiers
Sell, rent, or share any data with advertisers or third parties
Access or control the event organizer’s WordPress site data

All attendee data stays exclusively with the organizer and their WordPress hosting provider.

6. Data Security

We implement security controls to protect data processed by the App, including:

Encrypted communication (HTTPS) between the App and the organizer’s website
Secure token storage
Device-level encryption for the offline queue
No transmission of event or attendee data to third-party servers

The security of your WordPress installation and hosting provider, including your EventPrime Events Tickets and EventPrime Event Attendee Check in setup, remains your responsibility.

7. Data Controller & Processor Roles

Under global privacy laws:

Event Organizer

Acts as the Data Controller
Owns all attendee and event data stored on their WordPress site

Metagauss

Acts as Software Provider / Data Processor (limited scope)
Processes data only to provide functionality within the App
Does not determine how attendee data is collected, stored, or used by the organizer

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for use by adult event organizers and staff. It does not target or provide services for children under 13.

9. Legal Compliance

This policy is designed to comply with:

GDPR (EU)
CCPA (California)
LGPD (Brazil)
Other applicable privacy regulations

If your region requires specific disclosures, organizers are responsible for maintaining compliance on their own WordPress sites.

10. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any external third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

11. Data Retention

Offline data stored on the device is temporary and is automatically cleared after syncing. No data is retained by Metagauss beyond what is necessary for App functionality.

12. Your Rights

Because all attendee data is hosted on your WordPress site, requests related to:

Data access
Data correction
Data deletion
Data export

must be managed through your site, not through Metagauss.
