Quincy Rivers was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. From a young age, he was immersed in the sounds of jazz and blues, which were played constantly in his household. Inspired by the music of legends like Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and Miles Davis, Quincy began playing the trumpet at the age of 10.
As he grew older, Quincy became more and more dedicated to his craft, practicing for hours every day and honing his skills. By the time he graduated from high school, he was already playing gigs at local jazz clubs and making a name for himself in the New Orleans music scene.
After a few years of playing around town, Quincy decided to take his talents to New York City, where he knew he could find more opportunities to play with some of the greatest jazz musicians in the world.
