Version 4 Release Notice

EventPrime version 4 introduces several critical enhancements aimed at optimizing performance, scalability, and security. While this release mainly focusses on under-the-hood improvements, it lays groundwork for our planned development path and new feature rollouts in the future.

Key Enhancements

Optimized Database Queries

  • Significant reduction in the number of database queries.
  • Improved query efficiency for faster data retrieval and processing.

Enhanced Scalability

  • Expanded capacity to manage thousands of events concurrently.
  • Improved system architecture to support high-volume event handling.

Bug Fixes

  • Resolution of multiple identified bug.
  • Refactoring ticket purchasing and checkout code.

Strengthened Security

  • Additional security measures to bolster the overall system security.
  • Enhanced data protection protocols to safeguard user information.

Update Readiness

While the UI and workflow remain unchanged for both the frontend and the admin areas, the restructured code has significantly altered how the core interacts with its extensions. Consequently, all extensions must be updated alongside the core.

As a precautionary measure, upon first updating to v4, all incompatible extensions will be automatically deactivated. These extensions must be manually replaced with their latest versions, which can be easily downloaded from the EventPrime website. Please note, this is a one-time process. Future updates for the extensions will be delivered automatically.

To ensure this message is abundantly clear, we have added two prominent alerts, both before and after the update. Additionally, we have deactivated automatic core updates for this version to prevent any issues if an auto-update ran while you are away.

For situations where you are using custom extensions, we recommend postponing the update. First, apply and test changes to your custom extensions on a staging site before deploying them to the production environment.

    1. Thank you for reaching out to us.

Our recent major update aimed to enhance the functionality and performance of EventPrime. We recommend reconnecting the Events Calendar Newsletter Pro plugin to resolve this issue.
